NHRC asks Delhi govt to pay Rs 1.80 lakh to 6 injured by PCR van

The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, has asked the Delhi Government to pay 1 lakh 80 thousand rupees as monetary relief to six persons who were injured in a road accident involving a Police Control Room, PCR, van in the national capital.The Commission has directed to pay 50 thousand rupees each to three persons who were grievously injured and 10 thousand rupees each to other three person injured in the accident.The Commission has also called for compliance report along with the proof of payment made to the victims. The NHRC recommendation came following complaints alleging that in October last year a PCR van driven at a high speed by Head Constable had climbed up at a footpath near Barapullah flyover causing injuries to these persons.
