NHAI to take up major road projects in Haryana, Punjab ,HP

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Mr. C.P. Joshi today said that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) would take up major road projects of 1167 kms with a tentative cost of over 10.5 thousand crore rupees in the states of Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh during the current financial year. Mr. Joshi was addressing a function after inaugurating country’s first RFID Technology based Electronic Toll Collection Plaza and dedicating the four-lanning of 27.59 kilometer Zirakpur-Parwanoo stretch of NH-5 to the nation at Chandimandir Toll Plaza near Panchkula today. He said that on the pattern of this newly inaugurated Electronic Toll, all Tolls in the country would be equipped with the RFID Technology so that the people could be benefited with the latest technology.
