<span style="color: #222222;">The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has formed a committee to examine allegations of illegal sand mining in the Yamuna River and sought a report within a month.<br />'' <br />''The NGT action follows a move by the Delhi Jal Board which alleged illegal sand mining in the Yamuna river. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />''  A bench headed by NGT Chairperson justice Adarsh Kumar Goel asked the panel consisting of Delhi District Magistrate, Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and Central Pollution Control Board to look into the matter and take appropriate action.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The green tribunal said that the DPCC will be the nodal agency for coordination and compliance.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The bench posted the matter for hearing on December 5th.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The tribunal was hearing a plea filed by Delhi Jal Board CEO Anil Kumar Singh alleging that 17 kilometres downstream of Tajewala barrage, a blockade is being built in the main river course that will obstruct the flow of the river and is being done to undertake illegal sand mining.</span><br />
