NGO hits out at ex-CJI for? Bhopal gas tragedy case

Hitting out at former Chief Justice of India A H Ahmadi for a 1996 ruling in the Bhopal gas tragedy case, an NGO working for the victims of the industrial disaster today alleged that he is as much responsible as Warren Anderson, the ex-Union Carbide Chairman.

The convenor of Bhopal Gas Peedit Mahila Udyog Sangthan, Abdul Jabbar said, Mr Ahmadi was the Supreme Court Chief Justice in 1996 when the apex court dropped charges under IPC Section 304-II (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) against the accused in the case.
