NFSA to cover all remaining ten states, UTs except TN by 1st April: Paswan

Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan expressed confidence that National Food Security Act (NFSA) will cover all remaining ten states and Union Territories except Tamil Nadu by first of April this year.<br/><br/>Addressing a press conference in Allahabad on Monday, the Union Minister said that National Food Security Act is currently being implemented in 25 states and Union Territories in the country.<br/><br/>He said in Uttar Pradesh, National food Security Act is effective in 28 districts of out of 75 districts.<br/><br/>The union minister said remaining 47 districts of the state will implement this act with other remaining states in coming in April this year.<br/><br/>Mr. Paswan said the ministry has proposed that the industry will now soon be able to self certify their standards and if they fail to comply the required standard for their products they will face punishment too.<br/><br/>Mr. Paswan said that government is also taking necessary steps to deal with misleading advertisement issues.<br/><br/>
