In Nepal, the sixth round of parliamentary voting to elect a new Prime Minister is slated for 5th September. A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of Parliament last evening fixed the new date after both the candidates- Unified CPN (Maoist)) and Nepali Congress could not secure the required votes to get elected in the fifth round of polling yesterday. The election result was on expected lines as the CPN-UML with the strength of 109 and the four Madhesi parties with the combine strength of 84 and other smaller parties had decided to remain neutral and not to support anyone of the two contesting candidates. AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports that Nepal is in the process of electing a new Prime Minister since July 21 after Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal resigned from the post on 30th of June. As per the interim constitution, the voting process would continue till a candidate secures a simple majority in parliament.
