Newly-formed Boxing Federation of India calls for elections on Sep 25<br/>

Newly-formed Boxing Federation of India has called for elections on the 25th of this month with a view to break the impasse over the governing of the sport in the country. Sources in the body said, the Federation was formed two months ago and it has been registered with the Registrar of Societies in Mumbai. A notice has been sent out for the elections which will be held in Mumbai. Indian Olympic Association and International Boxing Association (AIBA) have also been told to send their observers for the elections.Indian boxing administration has been in disarray since 2012 when the federation was first suspended due to manipulation in elections. New body, Boxing India, which took shape in 2014, was also terminated last year after a rebellion by the state units.The sport is currently being administered by an ad-hoc committee of AIBA.AIBA warned of stern action if elections were not held by the 25th of this month.
