Newly appointed Minister of State in Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry, Ms Krishna Raj today reviewed the schemes being implemented by the department of animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries in New Delhi.<br/><br/>A detailed presentation was made regarding the schemes for development of increasing cattle productivity through Rashtriya Gokul Mission, Dairy Development for more income to Dairy farmers, Fisheries and small Livestock like Goat and Sheep and also the poultry sector.<br/><br/>Achievements made during the last three years and the challenges as well as Action Plan for doubling farmer's income by 2022 threw the livestock sector were discussed in detail.<br/><br/>Ms. Raj emphasized the importance of monitoring and evaluation of the schemes and mentioned that schemes officers should be made aware about their responsibilities for efficient and optimum utilization of allocated resources.<br/><br/>She also observed that along with organising Animal Husbandry on modern scientific lines, Department may also actively promote traditional methods for enhancing production and productivity of Country's Livestock wealth.<br/><br/>The Minister said emphasis should also be made on ensuring that the benefit of schemes flows to the poorest and innovative ways of implementing various schemes with assured impact on the ground need to be taken up.
