A new variety of groundnut that can be grown in summers has been developed by agro-scientists of the Chandra Shekhar Azad Agriculture Technology University (CSA), Kanpur.<br/><br/>CSA scientist, Jitendra Singh said the new variety of groundnut could be harvested just three months after it is sown. <br/><br/>He said, the summer variety is disease-free as pests cannot attack the crop because of high temperature in the atmosphere. <br/><br/>Mr Singh claimed that with an investment of 30,000 rupees per hectare, a grower can earn up to 75,000 rupees.
