The new domestic terminal of Thiruvananthapuram airport will be opened to passengers by next month. The terminal, almost three times bigger than the existing one has state of art passenger amenities and surveillance system. Airport Director Chadramauli said that the terminal can handle thirty incoming and outgoing aircraft, a day. Air traffic control system is being upgraded with latest equipment worth about 22 crore rupees imported from Spain. This financial year passenger traffic from Thiruvananthapuram airport has gone up by twelve per cent.
