New Delhi is to send a new team soon to US to get access to David Coleman Headley, accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium said all bottlenecks to get access to Headley have been removed. New Delhi has a way forward on the issue, he said. Headley,a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative, is in the US custody now.<br/> <br/>Gopal Subramanium,who has just returned from Washinton after holding discussions on the issue, was answering a query how early India could get access to Headley. Appreciating the unstinted cooperation from the US authorities,he said he had a very fruitful discussion with them.<br/> <br/>During his stay there, he discussed with officials of the US Justice Department modalities for access to Headley, in an appropriate legal format. <br/> <br/>Attorney General of India, G.E. Vahanvati also said that a fresh team has been constituted to seek access to David Coleman Headley and the team will leave for US very soon.<br/> <br/>Earlier, the government said, the American assurance regarding direct access to Lashkar e Taiba operative by Indian investigators, is a significant achievement. Home Secretary G.K Pillai said, that this should put to rest all doubts expressed in this regard by certain quarters. <br/> <br/>Headley, who was arrested in October last, had confessed to his America interrogators that he had several times conducted recce for the Mumbai attacks. He has also revealed that a serving Pakistani Army Major had given training to him in Pakistan. He has entered into a plea bargain with the US government offering to be available to foreign investigators through deposition, video conferencing or letters rogatory.
