The new series of 500 and 2,000 rupee notes are now available in banks and post-offices from today. <br/>Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has assured that there will be adequate availability of the new notes in the coming days. Briefing reporters in New Delhi last evening,the Minister said, people will not face any difficulty in replacing the old currencies. He assured the people that the government will do its best to minimise the inconveniences they may face due to the scrapping of old notes. <br/><br/>Mr Jaitley said, the initiative will help curb black money and parallel economy as they impact the actual economy. He said, the move aims at making India a cashless economy. The Minister said, the decision has been welcomed everywhere and it is a major step that will enhance India's credibility.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, huge rush and long serpentine cues were witnessed in the national capital today at banks, which opened after a day's break, as people queued to get lower denomination currency and new banknotes.<br/><br/> People seemed excited after getting new 2,000 rupees notes from banks and were seen clicking pictures holding new banknotes in their hands.
