Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) is a credible organisation and maintains arm's length distance from Finance Ministry. On Congress questioning the credibility of new GDP data, Mr Jaitley said, the new series GDP data gives a clear picture of Indian economy. He said the GDP data released by the CSO is more inclusive. 

He said, the data revised the GDP growth in the last two years of UPA government. At that time, revision had made the GDP grow upwards and was welcomed by the people in the then government. He said, now in continuation of the same exercise, new series has been made applicable from 2004-5.
