The new measures include closure of all cinema halls, gyms, recreation clubs, bars and meeting halls. Groceries and vegetable retail outlets are allowed to operate, but they cannot function inside malls or shopping complexes. Departmental stores are asked to switch off the air conditioners. In urban areas, beauty parlors, spas and saloons are asked to wind up for the time being. Restaurants and food outlets including tea stalls can only offer take away or parcel services. In places of worship, only the priests are allowed to carry on the routine activities. Crowd at marriage functions are capped at fifty and at funerals, 25. E-registration of visitors from other states and countries except from thje neighbouring Puducherry is made compulsory.
