Newly appointed Power Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, today described his new job as a daunting challenge but hoped that he would be able to perform his duties well. Scindia, a young Congress MP from Madhya Pradesh, has been appointed as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power in Sunday's Cabinet reshuffle.

Scindia said he would work at ensuring connectivity and bandwidth for electricity right down to the grass root level. He said, he would fix the priorities after having a clear understanding of the sector and the subject.

He also thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi for bestowing him with this responsibility.
