Union Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari has said, new policy on recycling of auto ancillary parts is being worked out by the Centre. Addressing the pre-budget consultation meet organized by The Hindu Business Line and the Confederation of Indian Industry in Chennai, he said vehicles of more than 15 years old contribute the most to air pollution, necessitating the policy on recycling of automobile ancillaries.<br/><br/>Mr Gadkari expressed confidence, the GST would be rolled out from coming April 1st, and said it would help simplify tax regime and check corruption. Demonetization was aimed at the overall good of the nation, and all problems for common public due to the move will be over within three months. The Minister said National Highways projects are currently getting completed at the rate of 18 kilometer per day and actions are under way to raise it to 30 kilometers.
