A National Policy for Children is currently being drafted. It will revise the earlier National Policy of 1974. The Minister of Child Development, Mrs. Krishna Tirath, said this in the Lok Sabha today. In a written reply she informed the House that the revised policy on children will address the new challenges which have emerged with the advent of globalization. Globalization has impacted the children's health, security and development. The proposed policy recognises the need to secure the rights of children, the Minister said.
