New Liberation War Gallery Inaugurated at the Indian Cultural Centre in Dhaka

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: #000000;">A new 1971 Liberation War Gallery was inaugurated at the Indian Cultural Centre of the High Commission of India in Dhaka on Tuesday. Home Minister of Bangladesh Asaduzzaman Khan was the Chief Guest on the occasion. High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Pranay Verma joined the Home Minister in the inauguration of  the Liberation War Gallery which contains some rare photographs of the 1971 Liberation War which culminated in the liberation of then East Pakistan and its emergence as the newest nation of the South Asian region. <br />''<br />''A number of liberation war fighters, Bir Muktijoddhas, and distinguished guests, including a number of eminent personalities of Bangladesh, representatives from cultural and academic spheres of Bangladesh,  media persons and youth took part in the inaugural programme. <br />''<br />''The Gallery showcases the heroic photographs and documents from the 1971 War of Liberation of Bangladesh as a testament to the enduring bonds of friendship between India and Bangladesh. It pays tribute to the valiant freedom fighters who fought against oppression and tyranny. The gallery honours the memory of the unnamed millions who laid down their lives during the 1971 Liberation War of Bangladesh. It takes the visitors on an inspiring journey through the history of that period which serves as a symbol of valour, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of the people of Bangladesh.<br />''<br />''In his remarks at the inauguration of the new gallery, High Commissioner Pranay Verma emphasised the historical significance of the 1971 Liberation War for both Bangladesh and India. He underlined the unwavering spirit of friendship and solidarity that guided India's support to the cause of Bangladesh's freedom. He said that the gallery will highlight the shared commitment of India and Bangladesh to preserve and celebrate the spirit of 1971 that continues to guide the relations between the two countries. High Commissioner Verma expressed hope that the gallery will serve as a monument of India-Bangladesh friendship that future generations will continue to visit and seek inspiration from.<br />''<br />''Home Minister of Bangladesh Asaduzzaman Khan recalled the great sacrifice of the Indian soldiers and exemplary support provided by the people of India to 10 million refugees who poured into the neighbouring states of Tripura, West Bengal, Assam and other states of India during the Liberation War in 1971.<br />''The programme ended with songs on the theme of liberation war of Bangladesh and a dance drama about the enduring friendship between India and Bangladesh . </span><br />
