Political Parlays have accelerated in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir for the formation of new government. In Jammu and Kashmir, with BJP Keeping all its options open, formation of Government may take couple of days as major political parties, National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party seem to be in a dilemma whether to go with the BJP or not. Both National Conference and PDP are weighing every pros and cons before taking a final decision. While Congress has again offered its support to PDP in government formation, Peoples Democratic Party is yet to respond to the offer.
BJP state president and Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma has said that he is not in the race for Chief Minister but added that the next head of the state will be from within the party. He said the party contested elections with an aim to form government and people expressed faith in the party by providing historic mandate and the party will work for the welfare of the people.
However if party sources are to be believed with Omar Abdullah’s refusal to support Bhartiya Janta Party for the formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP is trying to make contact with Dr Frooq Abdullah for his party’s support in the formation of BJP-NC government. PDP has said that it deliberate upon every single option and final decision for the government formation will require much time.
In Jharkhand, both BJP central observers JP Nadda and Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe nominated by the Party's Parliamentary Board to oversee the formation of a new government are reaching at Ranchi today.
Dr. Vinay Sahsrabuddhe told our correspondent that they will consult newly elected Party members to the Assembly for unanimous selection of their leader.
AIR correspondent reports that most of the senior leaders of the party's state unit have reached Ranchi. Former Deputy Chief Minister Raghubar Das told our correspondent that there is no dispute within the party over the issue of tribal or non tribal Chief Minister. He said with the consent of central leadership new Chief Minister will be chosen. The date for formal meeting of newly elected MLAs has yet not been decided. Raghubar Das's name is round the corner as new chief minister of the state. BJP AJSU alliance has got clear mandate of formation of new government winning 42 seats in 81 members Assembly. BJP on its own has won 37 seats.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has called a meeting of its newly elected members tomorrow at Ranchi. Party leader Hemant Soren has said that his party will act as a responsible opposition. JMM has emerged as second largest party winning 19 seats. Jharkhand Vikas Morcha has called a meeting of its newly elected MLAs on December 29.
The Chief Electoral Officer of the State PK Jajoria will hand over today the list of newly elected members to the Governor. New government is to be formed before January 3 next year.
