New Delhi says, the situation to hold dialogue between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif is not conducive. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin however said that the decision about holding a dialogue on the sidelines of United Nation's General Assembly (UNGA) in New York next month will be taken as the situation evolves. He was responding to a query on the proposed meeting between the two Prime Ministers .
Akbaruddin said, violence and terrorist activities continue to emanate from Pakistani soil. He said Pakistan should abide by its publicly stated commitment that its territory will not be used for anti- India activities.
On the reported Chinese incursion in Arunachal Pradesh, he said, it has already been rebutted by Army and described it as non-event.
On discussions with the visiting Afghan Vice President, Karim Khalili, Akbaruddin said, issues of strategic importance figured prominently in the talks.
