Sports Minister Vijay Goel and All India Foot ball Federation (AIFF) president Praful Patel today launched Mission-Eleven-Million, the biggest school sports outreach programme at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. They also unveiled Mascot Kheleo for Under 17 football world cup 2017. The Mission XI aims to instill the passion for football in 11 million children from every part of the country. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Goel said, the key idea of this programme is that every child should have the opportunity to play football. He said, his Ministry expects football to be played in every nook and corner of the country just like cricket. Meanwhile, Mr Praful Patel expressed India's commitment to move in an upward trajectory in the arena of football with the country's aim to play in 2022 Qatar world cup and the needed infrastructure is being taken care of.First ever FIFA U-17 World Cup is being held in India in October this year. India will showcase its ability to organize and execute global sporting events.
