Congress President Sonia Gandhi has said India wants an impartial and independent inquiry into the alleged atrocities committed on Sri Lankan Tamils. She said New Delhi stands for the cause of the Sri Lankan Tamils. She was addressing the Congress Parliamentary Party in New Delhi this morning. On the issue of Italian Marines, party sources said Mrs. Gandhi made it clear India should not be taken for granted.
Commenting on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders mounting attack on the Congress, Mrs. Gandhi called upon party leaders to expose their ulterior motives. She called upon the party leaders to gear up for the upcoming assembly elections this year and the General Elections next year with confidence and professionalism
