Sports Minister Vijay Goel today launched Mission-Eleven-Million, the biggest school sports outreach programme in the country at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The programme aims to instill the passion for football in 11 million children from every part of the country. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Goel said, the key idea of this programme is that every child should have the opportunity to play football. He said, over the past year, his Ministry has made many bold strides towards developing a sporting culture in the country. The Minister said, projects like Khelo India are helping develop sport at the ground level and country's youth have so much interest in football and government wants to encourage it. Mr Goel said, with the FIFA U-17 World Cup being held in India in October this year, India will showcase the ability to organize and execute global sporting events.
