New Delhi slams Pak for allowing anti-India rallies by Parliament attack mastermind Masood Azhar

New Delhi termed as unfortunate Pakistan allowing rallies against India convened by Jaish-e Mohammed Chief Masood Azhar. Reacting to the recent rally held by him, spokesman of External Affairs Ministry Syed Akbaruddin said Masood Azhar's organisation has been banned by India, the United States, United Nations. But, he still holding rallies against India in various parts of Pakistan. The spokesman reiterated India's zero tolerence towards terrorism.

He also said India has asked Italy to provide more security to its embassy in Rome. The request follows the mission receiving hate mails and a live bullet in retaliation to Italian marines issue. Asserting that India takes such incidents very seriously, the spokesperson said it is a matter of concern. He said New Delhi has sensitised its friends in Italy and hopes that necessary measures will be taken to ensure safety and security of th Indian Mission in Rome. He said the government is in touch with Italian government at various levels including very senior level.

Italian government has expressed its disappointment over the slow pace of trial of its two marines charged with killing two fishermen in February 2012. It recalled its Ambassador in New Delhi Daniele Mancini for consultations earlier this week.

The European Union has expressed the hope that a solution will be found to the issue of Italian marines. Ambassador of the delegation of European Union to India Joao Cravinho told PTI that it is a matter of concern to them that two years have passed with no charges filed against the marines.

The Italian marines had shot dead two fishermen off the Kerala coast in February, 2012 and ever since the two countries have been wrangling over their prosecution.
