New Delhi ready to hold talks with Islamabad with open mind

<br/>New Delhi is ready to hold talks with Islamabad with an open mind to discuss all outstanding issues. Official sources in New Delhi said that the government is looking at the forthcoming meetings between foreign secretaries and home ministers of the two neighbouring countries as a trust building exercise that will pave the way for substantial progress to be made on terrorism and all other issues. <br/> <br/>The foreign secretary Ms. Nirupama Rao will hold talks with her Pakistani counterpart Salman Basheer on Thursday in Islamabad. The Home Minister P Chidambaram will hold talks with his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Mallik on 26th of this month. <br/> <br/>Mr Chidambaram is travelling to Islamabad to attend the SAARC Home Ministers' meeting. <br/> <br/>AIR Correspondent reports that the foreign secretaries of the two countries will prepare the ground for the foreign ministers' meeting scheduled next month. India is also expected to suggest greater cross LoC trade and more people-to-people contact. <br/> <br/>New Delhi will also forcefully take up the core issue of terrorism including 26/11 and infiltration from across the border and ceasefire violations. In a related move, the Cabinet Committee on Security is believed to have endorsed the fresh initiative towards trust-building and dialogue with Pakistan. <br/> <br/>Official sources said that the Home Minister will brief his counterpart in Islamabad about some of the information got from the recent interrogation of Lashker-e-Toeba operative David Coleman Headley. An Indian team had gone to Washington to interrogate the Pakistani born terror mastermind.<br/>
