India has said it is ready to provide technical and economic support to the government of Nepal to hold the Constituent Assembly elections.
India’s Ambassador to Nepal , Jayant Prasad made the offer during his meeting with the chairman of Interim Election government Khil Raj Regmi in Kathmandu today.
According to Mr Regmi’s Press adviser, Rahendra Pandey the Chairman said the necessary support can be taken following consultations with the Election Commission. This is for the first time the Indian Ambassador called on Mr. Regmi since the forming of the new government.
On the occasion, Mr Prasad welcomed and congratulated Mr Regmi for the formation of new government saying India was always positive in the country's peace and constitution drafting process.
They also expressed belief that the bilateral relation between the countries will further strengthen in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of SAARC Ahmed Saleem also met Mr Regmi today.
