Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today chaired a meeting of the special committee for the Interlinking of Rivers in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shekhawat said, the interlinking of the rivers programme is very important for enhancing the water and food security of the country. He said, this will be helpful in providing water to drought-prone and rainfed farming areas.
