New Delhi and Paris will sign a couple of agreements during the French President's four-day visit to India. Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy will reach Bangalore tomorrow on the first leg of his visit. According to French Embassy, he is set to open a consulate in Bangalore and visit the ISRO office. He is accompanied by a high level delegation including seven ministers and captains of industry. Mr. Sarkozy will hold delegation level talks with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Monday in New Delhi. Ahead of the delegation level talks, he will have one-on-one meeting with Dr. Singh on Sunday evening. Strengthening ties in the areas of Civil Nuclear Cooperation, Defence, Space, Agriculture and Trade in investment are high on the agenda. The two leaders will address a joint press conference after the talks. He will also hold discussions with the Vice President Mohd Hamid Ansari and call on the President Pratibha Devisingh Patil during his stay in the national capital. President Sarkozy accompanied by his wife Carla Bruni will also visit Taj Mahal before leaving for Mumbai to pay his respects to the victims of 2008 terror attacks at the police memorial. On this occasion, President Sarkozy will also confer French Honours on Devendra Varma of Oberoi Hotel and Karambir Kang of the Taj Mahal Hotel for saving the lives of innocent people including those from France during the terror attack.AIR correspondent reports that India and France are working to wrap up a deal on the supply of two nuclear reactors to India. The two countries are also working ways and means to strengthen the strategic partnership and take the economic engagement to a higher level. The France is India's 5th trading partner in Europe and bilateral trade remained around 5.36 billion euros last year. The two countries have set a trade target of 12 billion euros by 2012.
