The connectivity to the venue of the opening ceremony got a boost with the opening to public of the metro line from Sarita Vihar. Unprecedented security is in place to ensure incident free games. Gun trotting security personnel are manning the venues and the roads leading to the Stadiums. Meanwhile, in a bid to boost India's chances at the Commonwealth Games, Oil Minister today announced cash awards for Indian medal winners. Petroleum Sports Promotion Board has announced 10 lakh rupees for every gold medalist, seven and half lakh rupees for those bagging silver medalist and 5 lakh rupees for bronze medal winners.
