New comprehensive framework of global standard laws will protect fundamental right to privacy of citizens: Govt

<span style="color: #222222;">Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar today said that it was considered more appropriate that government will come back with a new comprehensive framework of global standard laws including Digital Privacy Laws. He said that it would not only help catalyse start-up innovation ecosystem, but also protect fundamental right of privacy of citizens.<br />''<br />''Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr Chandrasekhar said, reason to withdraw Personal Data Protection Bill is very simple. He said, while Joint Committee of Parliament had given a series of very comprehensive recommendations in its report, a lot of the recommendations, though relevant, were outside the domain of privacy and Data Protection Law.</span><br />
