In Sri Lanka, a new cabinet is being sworn-in today. Sources say the president Mahinda Rajapakse is likely to limit his new Council of Ministers to 40 as pledged by him during his election campaign. On Wednesday Mr. Rajapaksa appointed Dissanayake Mudiyanselage Jayaratne (79), a founder member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), as the new Prime Minister of the island nation.
