New bridge on Savitri River within next six months: Gadkari

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari today said that the new bridge would be builtup on the Savitri River of Mahad Taluka in Raigad within next six Months. He also assured that the construction work to widen the Mumbai-Goa Highway widening would be completed by the end of 2018.<br/><br/>Speaking at a private function in Kharghar in Navi Mumbai this afternoon, Mr. Gadkari said that the Centre has sanctioned funds for widening work of Mumbai-Goa Highway. He informed that due to slow response from the land holders enroute, the process of land acquisition took long time and resulted in delay. He, however, assured that work of developing four lanes on the route would be expedited this year.<br/><br/>Speaking about the recent bridge collapse tragedy in Mahad Taluka in Raigad district of Konkan Region, Mr. Gadkari said that the incident has alarmed the Government towards working efficiently for ensuring the safety of civic construction across the state.
