New Bill to prevent sexual harassment of women at work place

A new Bill to prevent sexual harassment of women at work place will be introduced in the coming session of Parliament. This was revealed by Minister of State for Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath in New Delhi today while addressing the Conference of State Secretaries in charge of Women and Child Development. Mrs Tirath said two new schemes are being launched soon for women welfare. Mrs Tirath said that Indira Gandhi Matritya Sahyog Yojna will be launched in 200 districts of the country. A total of 1000 crore rupees has been earmarked for this scheme in the current fiscal which provides 4000 rupees financial assistance to women during pregnancy and six months after that. The Minister said that another important scheme, Rajiv Gandhi Empowerment of Adolescent Girls will be launched on 19th of next month in 62 districts of the country as a pilot project. Later entire country will be covered under this scheme. The scheme aims at enhancing the nutritional and economic status of adolescent girls in the age group of 11 to 18 years. The adolescent girls will be given take home rations under this scheme.
