New batch of innovation scholars, writers and artists commenced their in-residence programme in Rashtrapati Bhavan today. There are ten innovation scholars, two writers and two artists selected in this batch and they will be in residence till 18th of this month. In-Residence Programme was launched by the President in December 2013 to encourage the creative and innovative potential of people and open up Rashtrapati Bhavan for greater participation and involvement of citizens in its activities.<br/>'<br/>Innovators who will stay at the Rashtrapati Bhavan are Surjeet Singh from Haryana, Moa Subong from Nagaland , Ajay Kumar Sharma from Uttar Pradesh, Akash Manoj from Tamil Nadu, Girish Badragond from Karnataka, Mansukhbhai Prajapati from Gujarat, Subhash Ola from Rajasthan, Ms. Shalini Kumari from Bihar, Paresh Panchal from Gujarat and Santosh Pachar from Rajasthan. <br/>Surjeet Singh has the credit of innovation for Surjeet Basmati 1- a high yielding and salt tolerant paddy variety, Moa Subong for Bamhum -an innovative wind musical instrument, Ajay Kumar Sharma is credited with innovation of farmer friendly compressor for biogas bottling, Akash Manoj , a non-invasive self diagnosis of silent heart attack and Girish Badragond is known for developing low cost bore-well scanners. <br/><br/>Mansukhbhai Prajapati, has the credit of innovating Mitti cool refrigerator, non-stick clay tawa and clay cooker, Subhash Ola, modified milk boiler, Ms. Shalini Kumari, modified walker with adjustable legs, Paresh Panchal, bamboo strip, incense stick and incense making machine and Santosh Pachar, Laxmangarh selection, improved carrot variety.<br/><br/>Writers who will stay at the Rashtrapati Bhavan are Dr. Ashok Kumar P. Chavda from Gujarat, recipient of Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar and Bengali poet, Prabal Kumar Basu, who received Gouri Bhattacharjee Memorial Award for his first book of poems Tumeei Pratham. Artists who will stay at Rashtrapati Bhavan are Rahul Shailendra Kokaste winner of 50th Maharashtra State Award, 2010 and Dheeraj Yadav recipient of 57th Lalit Kala Academy 2016 Award. <br/>'''''''<br/>
