A vintage World War-II fighter plane crashed during an air race in Nevada in the United States on Friday killing at least three people, including the 74 year old pilot. More than 50 were injured, 15 of them critically. Officials said there were indications that the plane suffered mechanical problems and plunged into a seating area in front of the main grand stand. The crash took place during the National Championship Air Races in the Reno area. Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration were viewing the air show and have taken charge of the investigation. The rest of the three-day event has been cancelled.
