Nepal:Winter session of Parliament begins with agenda to elect PM

In Nepal ,the winter session of parliament began from today with the election of Prime Minister as its top agenda. The speaker Subhash Nemwang adjourned the first day of the session soon after the House meet this afternoon without transacting any business after passing a condolence resolution to mourn the demise of CPN(UML) lawmaker Dambar Bahadur Khadga in a road accident recently.The Speaker announced that the House will meet on 12th of this month to hold the 17th round of votingto elect a new Prime Minister. So far 16 rounds of votiong were held in the last six months that failed to elect a new Prime Minister following the resignation of Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal from the post on 30 th of june last year.AIR Kathmandu Correspondnet says that the regular session of parliament began from today after of nearly two month. The last session of Parliament was prorogued on 19th of November after opposition Maoist lawmakers obstructed the Finance Minister Surendra Pandey from presenting the annual budget in the House.
