Nepal President Vidya Devi Bhandari has invited CPN(UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli to form a new government in the Himalayan nation. <br/><br/>The move comes after Mr Oli staked the claim to form a new government today. Earlier in the day, the incumbent Sher Bahadur Deuba resigned as Prime Minister. <br/><br/>Addressing the nation on television, Mr Deuba said he is submitting his resignation to pave the way for the formation of a new government as per the people's mandate in recent elections. <br/><br/>The Left Alliance of CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) registered a victory in the historic parliament and first ever provincial assembly election held on November 26 and December 7 last year. <br/><br/>In 275 member House of Representatives, the lower house of parliament, Left Alliance secured an almost two-thirds majority by winning 174 seats. The ruling Nepali Congress got just 63 seats.
