Nepal’s President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has called all the political parties in Parliament to nominate a consensus candidate for the post of Prime Minister by 21st of this month. According to the Press Adviser to the President, Mr. Rajendra Dahal said that this is in accordance with the interim constitution.With the resignation of Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal on Sunday, there is political uncertainty in Nepal. Mr. Khanal is to address the Parliament later today. The six month old government has seen no progress in the constitution drafting and peace process though the term of Constituent Assembly was extended twice. This is the third government since the elections in April 2008.
