Nepal’s Minister for Energy attacked by unidentified assailants

In Nepal, the newly appointed Minister for Energy of the CPN-UML Gokarna Bista was attacked by unidentified assailants at Kathmandu last evening. He sustained injuries on his head and in the right hand. According to reports, Bista was attacked by motorcycle-borne assailants from behind who were armed with a khukuri at about 8:45 pm as he came out of his residence following an unknown call. Eyewitnesses said the attackers fled the scene in darkness during load shedding. The attack on the minister comes a day after a businessman was gunned down in Capital Kathmandu. Police said a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers and have rounded up suspects and seized a motorcycle.
