In Nepal, the Constitutional Committee (CC) has extended the term of its sub-committee for the second time today. The meeting of the Constitutional Committee held at Kathmandu this morning decided to extend the sub-committee’s term till April 14. The extended term of the sub-committee, which was formed on February 25 in an attempt to narrow down the debated issues of the Constituent Assembly expired on Tuesday. The UCPN (Maoist) had proposed to change the sub-committee and urged that it must not have parties’ top leaders as its members, but other parties did not agree to it. The sub-committee is at present headed by Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The sub- committee has resolved many disputed issues; however issues like form of governance and state restructuring are yet to be solved.
