On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti the Nepali version of Mahatma Gandhi's autobiography "The story of My Experiments with Truth" was released at Kathmandu today. <br/><br/>Renowned Gandhian Pradeep Giri, Former Prime Minister of Nepal Lokendra Bahadur Chand and Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri jointly released the book. <br/><br/>The autobiography of Gandhiji is translated by Shri Shekhar Giri. In his address the former Prime Minister of Nepal Chand highlighted the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the freedom struggle of India and Gandhiji's contribution in world peace. <br/><br/>Famous Gandhian Pradeep Giri stressed upon the importance of non-violence in bringing stability in administration and society of a country. <br/><br/>Ambassador Puri said that Mahatma Gandhi's teachings are relevant in modern day world also. He also lauded Shri Shekhar Giri for translation of the iconic autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi in Nepali. <br/><br/>The event was organised by the Embassy of India and BP Koirala India-Nepal Foundation. Some rare photographs of Gandhiji were also exhibited. A documentary on life of Mahatama Gandhi was also screened on this occasion. <br/><br/>The process of producing fabrics from 'Charkha' was demonstrated. Dedicated follower of Mahatma Gandhi, Ms. Uma Jee sang the famous <br/><br/>Bhajan of Gandhiji 'Vaishnava Jan to tene kahiye" on the occasion. More than hundred Nepalese writers, artists, intellectuals and media persons attended the programme.
