In Nepal, senior leaders of the three major political parties have agreed to take a final decision on the draft of the common resolution prepared by the six-member task force on resolving the current political impasse. This was decided at a meeting of the senior leaders including Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Unified CPN (Maoist) Chairman Prachanda and Acting President of the Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala and CPN(UML) General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel among others. Talking to newsmen after the meeting, CPN (UML) General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel said the meeting discussed the draft resolution prepared by the task force on the role and the functioning of the President and the executive powers of the council of ministers. He said, there is no alternative to politics of consensus and understanding among the parties to resolve the present crisis. Mr Pokhrel expressed optimism that tomorrow’s meeting among the top leaders of the three major parties would find a way out to end the political impasse. AIR correspondent reports that the six-member task force comprising two representatives each from the three major parties have prepared a draft common resolution and entrusted the top leaders to take a final decision on finding a way out to resolve the political impasse on the basis of consensus.<br/>
