Nepali Congress not to accept Maoist-led govt until they provide tangible commitment

In Nepal, a key ally of the ruling coalition – Nepali Congress has said it will not accept a Maoist-led government until they provide a tangible commitment to implement the agreement on peace process.Talking to AIR Kathmandu Correspondent this afternoon, Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Poudel said his party remains committed to ensure ending of the peace process and will accept a Maoist-led government only when the disbanding of its army and the paramilitary structure of its youth wing – the Young Communist league is guaranteed.He said the 11 smaller parties outside the government, with whom his party held a meeting today, expressed concern over the lack of seriousness on the part of the Maoists’ towards the implementation of the three-party deal relating to peace process. In reply to a question, he said that his party is ready to lead the next national consensus government as the Maoists and CPN (UML) have already led the previous two governments.
