Nepali Congress, which is part of the ruling coalition, today floated a four-point proposal to end the political deadlock in Nepal. In the proposal, Nepali Congress has proposed to announce the date for local poll immediately, endorse the election-related bills, resume the House proceedings and give a full shape to the Election Commission.<br/><br/><br/>Party parliamentary office-bearers and central members held the meeting under the leadership of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba in Katmandu yesterday. They decided to further intensify talks with the ruling partners and the oppositions to forge a consensus on the proposal.<br/><br/>The main opposition CPN (UML) has obstructed the House since the registration of the Constitution amendment proposal on November 29. The amendment bill seeks to redraw the provincial boundary of the country which is the key demand of the Madhesi parties. <br/><br/>Madhesi parties have been protesting against the new constitution since it was promulgated over a year ago. The agitation had crippled the landlocked country's economy as supplies from India were blocked.
