Nepali Congress expresses concern on Budget

In Nepal , the Opposition Nepali Congress has expressed concern over the government ‘s proposal presented for pre-budget discussion in Parliament. The party has warned that it would not support the budget if the government does incorporate suggestions by the Nepali Congress. The party which held a meeting in Kathmandu today said the budget proposals lacks the spirit of the five point deal between the three major political parties. The meeting also condemned the government’s decision’s regarding appointments and transfers of civil servants and envoys. The pre- budget discussions on the proposed budget had begun on Wednesday after the Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari had received assurance from the opposition Congress would see the budget through. It is for the first time that pr-budget proposals are being discussed since the Constituent Assembly was elected in 2008.
