In Nepal, a key ally of the ruling 22-party coalition government – Nepali Congress has pledged to continue its support to the CPN-UML-led government. The assurance was given when a team of Nepali Congress delegation led by its Acting President Sushil Koirala called on Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at his official residence in Kathmandu today. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Unified CPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said his party will exercise maximum flexibility to seek a consensus to end the current political impasse and resume the stalled parliament session. Talking to newsmen at Chitwan today, he said his party will stop all protest movements and allow the parliament to run smoothly if Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and other parties find ways to address its demand on civilian supremacy by amending the constitution.
