Agreements in Civil Aviation, IT, Commerce and Industry and Defence besides Human Resource Development are likely to be inked after the delegation level talks between the visiting Nepalese President Dr. Ram Barn Yadav and the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh this afternoon. The discussions between the two leaders will also cover managing water resources and other bilateral issues to fully realize the potential of economic cooperation between the two countries. Pacts on strengthening the railway network between the two countries are also likely to be signed to further strengthen communication net work. Dr. Yadav who was accorded a ceremonial reception at the fore court of Rashtrapati Bhawan this morning sought increased bilateral co-operation with India. The visiting President of the Himalayan nation told this to AIR after he was accorded the formal reception. He is accompanied by a high level delegation.<br/><br/>Dr. Ram Barn Yadav is on a four-day state visit to India. He will also have talks with the Vice President, Mr. Hamid Ansari, the Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee,the Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram and the External Affairs Minister, Mr. S.M. Krishna. The Chairperson of UPA, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and the leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj will also call on him. Dr. Yadav would call on his counterpart, Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil later in the evening. The Nepalese President arrived in New Delhi on Monday. AIR correspondent reports that projects worth two thousand crore rupees are in progress in Nepal in infrastructure and other fields and the visit will help in speeding up the implementation of these projects and also identify new areas of cooperation. About 60 per cent of Nepalese trade is with India and New Delhi is the biggest investor in that country with its share at 44 percent.
