Nepalese cops arrest four persons in possession of fake Indian currency notes

In Nepal, police have arrested four persons including two Pakistanis in Kathmandu in one of the biggest crackdown on counterfeit Indian currency and drug trafficking racketeers.Superintendent of Metropolitan Police Ganesh K.C told newsmen on Sunday afternoon that acting on a tip off, police conducted raids in a hotel in Kathmandu and arrested Yunus Ansari and three of his associates in possession of over 2.5 million fake Indian currency notes and seized 3 Kg 700 grams of brown sugar from two Pakistani nationals Those arrested included the Yunus Ansari, Kashi Ram Adhikari and the two Pakistani nationals – Mohammad Iqbal and Mohammad Sajjad. According to metropolitan police chief, the illicit drug was brought from Pakistan to Nepal with the intension to smuggle it to the US from China.Police said the arrested persons were produced before Kathmandu District Court yesterday, who remanded them to ten days of judicial custody for further investigation into the case.According to police, interrogation of Kashi Ram Adhikari, led to the arrest of Yunus Ansari who is the son of a former Minister Salim Miya Ansari and the chairman of National Television, which recently went on air for test transmission.
