In Nepal polling for local elections after 20 years concluded peacefully. In the first phase today, polling was held for 281 local bodies out of 283 of 3 provinces. <br/><br/>Representatives for two local bodies have been elected unopposed. As per preliminary reports 71 percent voters exercised their franchise. Nearly 50,000 candidates are vying for the position of mayor, deputy mayor, ward chairman and ward member. <br/><br/>AIR Kathmandu correspondent reports that polling at 3 centres postponed due to death of two persons.
