Nepal: Voters' registration to begin from July 16

In Nepal voters' registration and updating of voters list for the provincial and federal elections will begin from July 16. The decision was taken by the Election Commission in a meeting held at Kathmandu on Monday. <br/><br/>According to Election Commission Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma the revision of voters list will be done in all districts across the country till 30th of this month. <br/><br/>He id that people whose names were not included in the voters' list published on April 16 can register their names in the districts of their permanent residence. <br/><br/>Such persons needs to appear in person along with their citizenship certificate. Similarly citizens can also submit request in district election offices for correction of their names and address. However, people already having their name in the voters list need not to reregister again. <br/><br/>The names of 14.2 million Nepali citizens are included in voters list at present. As per the constitution of Nepal provincial and federal elections to be held by January 2018.
